The Myth About Free Speech in Western “Democracies” & America’s Fatal Obsession With Israel

Posted by yourpakistan on September 30, 2012

PKKH Exclsuive | By Kulsoom Khan

The dual standards of western democracy laid bare as Islamophobes receive royal treatment under Act of Free Speech with anti-Semitism and ads ‘mocking’ Roman Catholics hastily banned.

To understand the obsession America has with Israel, and how it blatantly ignores the state sponsored terrorism and ethnic cleansing of Arabs there, it is vital we briefly go through the systematic indoctrination of the American public with the Western (and only legally available) version of the holocaust.

One of the many things Americans like to pride themselves over is the Bill of Rights. The first and second amendment guaranteeing the freedom to speech and religion is one of the most important aspects of American society and history. So it comes as little surprise when Americans vociferously defend the amendment. Even if it may include defending hate speech or more recently, Sam Bacile’s Innocence of Muslims and Pamela Geller’s subway ads, despite the fact in multi-cultural and heavily populated Northern cities like New York, hate speech and racism is generally looked down upon. Drones in Pakistan Traumatize Civilians, US Report Says

Posted by yourpakistan on September 27, 2012

Civilians are being “ terrorized” 24 hours a day by CIA drone attacks that target mainly low-level militants in north-west Pakistan, a US report says.

Rescuers treating the casualties are also being killed and wounded by follow-up strikes, says the report by Stanford and New York Universities.

Drone attacks are thought to have killed hundreds of militants in Yemen and Afghanistan as well as Pakistan.

US President Obama has said the targets are “on a list of active terrorists”.

Senior al-Qaeda and Taliban leaders have been killed in drone strikes in Pakistan.

But the scale of civilian casualties has been difficult to assess because independent media and researchers are denied access by the authorities to the tribal areas near the Afghan border.

Hours before the report was released, another drone strike hit the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan. The Pakistani Taliban said nine fighters were killed. Read the rest of this entry »

Pregnant Nun Ice Cream Advert Banned For ‘Mockery’

Posted by yourpakistan on September 25, 2012

An ice cream company banned from using an advert displaying a pregnant nun has vowed to position similar posters in London in time for the Pope’s visit.

Antonio Federici’s advert showed a pregnant nun eating ice cream in a church, together with the strap line “immaculately conceived”.

The Advertising Standards Authority has ordered it to be discontinued, saying it mocked Roman Catholic beliefs.

Antonio Federici says it will now put up new posters near Westminster Abbey. Pope Benedict XVI will visit Westminster Abbey on Friday, before holding Mass at Westminster Cathedral on Saturday.

Antonio Federici, a UK-based company, has yet to reveal what image will be portrayed in the new advert, saying only that it would be “a continuation of the theme”.

A spokeswoman for the company said the new image intended to “defy” the ban from the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

She added: “We are in the process of securing a series of billboards close to and along the planned route of the Pope’s cavalcade around Westminster Cathedral”. Read the rest of this entry »

The Protests And What Our Media Failed to HighLightThe Protests And What Our Media Failed to HighLight

What the Media Did Not Tell You; Pakistan’s Protests Marred Against Blasphemy on Ishq-E-Rasool Day.

PKKH Editorial

How the Miscreants Drowned Out the Sane Voices

In a disappointing turn of events, the small but vicious crowd of hooligans bent on destruction & vandalism was largely successful in damaging the efforts of hundreds and thousands of Pakistanis on Ishq-e-Rasool Day today. The hardwork that went behind the organization of hundreds of massive peaceful rallies went to waste as Pakistani media chose to selectively broadcast the violence through showing repeat telecasts of the few angry mobs, completely ignoring the larger protests taking place country-wide. As channel after channel showed clips of burning cinema houses, banks and police vehicles, it failed to show the crowds behind such disgusting and UnIslamic acts were small and in no way represented the 180 million Pakistanis. The few hundred people were nowhere near the half a million Pakistani Muslims who had taken to the streets today. All Ullama have unanimously condemned the vandalism and violence, which had nothing to do with Islam and Sunnah.

The Peaceful Rallies – KarachiNot a glimpse was shown of the huge rallies from Numaish Square to Tibet Center, where over half a dozen rallies culminated their protests, including Shi’ite and Sunni groups totalling over 80,000-100,000 participants. Many organizations put aside their differences and united at Numaish, Karachi for the love of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Among them included, Jamat-ud-Dawah (Safari Park, Jail Chowrangi to Numaish) with over 10,000 people, including women and children. The police vehicles too joined in the protests with JuD, swaying flags and protesting. Also present; Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen with 3,000-5,000, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, Ahle-Sunnah Wa’al Jama’ah, Ansar-ul-Ummah, Islami Student Organization with 5,000 at Numaish alone(seperate rallies at Shah Faisal, Malir, Hyderabad and Karachi Water Pump Chowrangi), and other ahle sunnat groups and civil society. Later joining Numaish protests was Muttahida Bainul Muslimeen Forum (MQM) all the way from Karachi Press Club. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf staged a huge gathering at Empress Market, with thousands of participants, peacefully ending by 5:30 PM. However two PTI members were killed at Native Jetty Pull before they could reach the protest venue.

Social Media, Aman Ki Asha and India’s Intentions

Posted by yourpakistan on September 23, 2012

PKKH Exclusive | By Mariam Shah

On the 13th of July, the US consulate organized and funded a two day event the “Social Media Mela 2012” in Karachi. It was basically a Pakistan-India social media get-together in which media figures, journalists, activists from both the countries participated to discuss a wide range of topics in panel discussions and few speakers were also invited to address the audience. If we just read the date again on which this event was organized, it was 13th July, the Martyr’s day of Kashmir, a day of solidarity with Kashmiri people. But here in Pakistan some liberals were enjoying and having “peace gup-shup” and ridiculing the “poster-boy” Shakeel Bhatt, who was actually an icon of the freedom struggle of the Kashmiris.. It would have been great if they would have shown “Kashmir Torture Trail” on the big screen in social media mela, I am sure, that in that case, every single individual would be finding a place to hide his/her face.

The bunch who attended this social gathering was from peculiar segments of the two societies. Few activists like Beena Sarwar and Marvi Srimed and a pro-US Nadeem F Paracha were there in the limelight. I don’t understand why Beena and Marvi never spoke up for Kashmir and are dead silent at the recent genocide in Burma, but they are always running for the minorities rights in Pakistan and most of the times exaggerating the “victim’s” tale. Perhaps they want to be recognized as anti-Pakistan, liberals and anti-Islam, so that they can catch the right attention of their “dear westerns”. They should not call themselves as “human rights activists”, when they can’t stand and raise voice for the major cases of oppressed humanity. Read the rest of this entry »

US believes Pakistan behind Camp Bastion Attack

Posted by yourpakistan on September 20, 2012

PKKH Comment: Faced with a humiliating defeat in Afghanistan, American media and officials do what they knows best – point their finger at Pakistan. Such profound is the humiliation of Camp Bastion that almost a week after the daring raid, the Americans have yet to work out how the Taliban fighters reached the well-protected camp. This article is posted as an example of the bafflement and utter confusion that surrounds the Americans in Afghanistan.

Was Pakistan Behind the Camp Bastion Attack?

By Jonathan Foreman
September 18, 2012

The raid on the Camp Bastion base by the Taliban last Friday was on every level a highly successful enemy operation, even given the fact that the U.S. and NATO defenders killed at least 14 of the attackers, perhaps wiping out their entire force.

After all, the destruction of six U.S. Harrier jump-jets and the killing of a U.S. Marine lieutenant colonel in charge of a Harrier squadron represent a level of achievement that would have pleased U.S. or British commandos in World War II.

But the raid may be more significant because of the skill and planning it required — skill and planning far beyond the reach of most of the guerilla bands that are loosely termed the Taliban. Even the most experienced and best funded of our opponents in Afghanistan, such as the Pakistani-sponsored Haqqani network, would presumably have great difficulty in pulling off such an operation without considerable assistance. Jinnah Stands Taller

Posted by yourpakistan on September 19, 2012

By Waheed Hamid

11th of Sept passed with media and Pakistan’s leadership more focused on American tragedy of 9/11. No significant leader spoke of the GREAT  M.A Jinnah being day of his 64th death anniversary . However, a leader of a political party did find time to criticize him and a lady who is sitting MPA  followed the path of collation partner distorted facts calling him first person to move against democracy.  Leadership demands self-sacrifice and  vision  which is exemplified by our great leader’s life and personality . Let me share what others had to say about our great Leader and leave it to the readers to decide!

  • Prof. Stanley Wolpert writes in his book “Jinnah of Pakistan” (1984):
Few individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world. Hardly anyone can be credited with creating a nation-state. Mohammad Ali Jinnah did all three.
  • Allama Iqbal (Pakistan’s national poet): “He is incorruptable and unpurchasable” [Ghulam Dastagir Rashid, Asrar-i lqbal (Hyderabad Deccan, 1944), p. 41.]
  • Gandhi (Indian leader and national hero): “Jinnah is incorruptible and brave” [Interview with Louis Fischer]
  • John Biggs-Davison (Member of UK Parliament):“Although without Gandhi, Hindustan would still have gained independence and without Lenin and Mao, Russia and China would still have endured Communist revolution, without Jinnah there would have been no Pakistan in 1947.”
  • The Aga Khan (Imam of Ismaeeli followers) considered him “the greatest man he ever met“, and added “I have met many politicians in my life, like Churchill, Mesoleni, Kaizon, Gandhi; but Jinnah was different from all of them. There was no other politician with such a strength of character” Read the rest of this entry »

Hypocrisy Touching The Sky; When Will We Wake Up!

Posted by yourpakistan on September 18, 2012

PKKH Editorial

Observe the chronology of events of the last 5 days:

A week before 9/11: film in Arabic version aired on Egyptian television.

9/11:  US ambassador plus 3 killed in Libyan embassy

9/12: Obama and Hillary state: this senseless act of violence… there is no justification for this… Violence like this is no way to honor religion or faith.”

9/13: White House maintained that free speech rights of America allow such films to air and that US does not have power to control the internet.

9/13: French mag. Closer’ publishes Princess Kate’s topless pics.

9/14:   Britain’s royal family began legal action against a French magazine on Friday for a “grotesque breach of privacy… in a totally unjustifiable manner”; “Their royal highnesses have been hugely saddened; “Their royal highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them.”

9/14: David Cameron’s official spokesman said the government’s position is that the royals are “entitled to their privacy,”

9/15: Canadian Hindu Association; we will screen anti-Islam film to make a point about tolerance.

9/15: all sites anticipated to publish Kate’s photos jammed, black-out or ‘temporarily unavailable’

9/15: photographer jailed and editor of mag. apologies on-air

9/15: TV shows a man with his head wrapped in a towel, coming out of house in police custody as Sam Bacile; police say ‘we are not arresting him, only taking him in for questioning’.

Can we please wake-up now, and ask how the notorious Royal family of Britian, famous for many wrong doings, not to mention Prince Harry’s recent Vegas vacation, where he had invited a clutch of women for a game of strip billiards for one of his naked good times, to be holding anything near to what we call ‘sacred’ or ‘reverential’, which is the position the Royals are maintaining amidst a society bent on freedom of all expression.

How have all sites bearing the photos jammed, how are the Royals expressing disgust and intolerance, as the Royal couple demanded that the photographer should be jailed. Why has he not been protected by the British police like Sam Bacile has been? Why the pics. of the princess bearing the ‘white Dupatta’ found in all papers, sites and magazines yesterday? America and The Muslim World

Posted by yourpakistan on September 17, 2012

America and Muslims to THINK of Rational Dialogue

Many of you pretend like actors and have no understanding of Islam and its primary values to deal with others. None of you are serious about your own intentions and beliefs.

By Mahboob A. Khawaja, PhD.

After the 9/11 tragedy, American politics is obsessed with anti-Islamic hatred and Islamophobia has assumed to become an industry to be used by the neoconservatives and continued proponents of the war on terrorism. More recently, the documentary movie reportedly made by Nakoula Basseley Nakoula or Sam Bassile 52 years old real estate developer originally from Israel (as mentioned by the NYTimes) available on the You Tube and elsewhere on the internet allegedly portraying false images of Islam and Prophet Mohammad’s life is not rare or the end in itself. Islamophobia is an organized scheme of things – an industry – an anti-Islamic institutionalized hatred campaigns and fear-mongering across the US and Western Europe. It is business as usual by entrepreneurs and lobbyists of the Military-Industrial Complex warmongering corporations.  Its ultimate aims are to keep the American and European people fearful of the growing Islamic presence in these parts of the world as if Muslims were the outcome of the eye of the storm to destroy the industrial progress or to halt the planned perpetuated fear of Islam. America and Muslims NEED to rethink about their perceptions and inborn fears toward each other. Perpetuated animosity and attacks on diplomatic missions will not solve any problems but create more and dangerous ones to be unsolvable. A crisis situation requires responsible critical thinking, not hasty actions of jumping into fireballs, killing of diplomats, verbal outbursts and burning of others flags. None of these are the rational strategies to address the problem.  America as a global power must realize its moral and political responsibility in an international context. Islamophobia is not the means to deal with morally and intellectual conscientious Muslim people. Read the rest of this entry »
