Pakistan: It’s ‘It’

Posted by yourpakistan on April 29, 2012

by Humayun Gauhar in Opinion-Maker

Magar Hazrat mukhannas hain, na heeon mein na sheon main.

It’s a parody on the English words ‘he’ and ‘she’, while ‘mukhannas’ refers to eunuchs.

For male it is ‘he’, for females ‘she’;

But esquire is sexless, neither in the ‘hees’ nor the ‘shes’

The verdict is neither he nor she. It’s ‘it’. Prime Minister Yusuf Reza Gillani was

convicted, but his punishment was detention in court till the judges choose to ‘rise’. It lasted 39 seconds. Having given their short order, the judges collected their wigs and gowns, rose and left, leaving the defence counsel speechless, to have his say later in a press conference. We are moving towards trial in media rather than by media. Read the rest of this entry »

Pakistan Army Uses bullets, and Classrooms to Fight Militancy

Posted by yourpakistan on April 26, 2012

By Michael Georgy

(Reuters) – Hazrat Gul spent two years in detention for allegedly aiding the Pakistani Taliban when they publicly flogged and beheaded people during a reign of terror in the scenic Swat Valley.

Now he wiles away his time in pristine classrooms, a Pakistani flag pin on his crisp uniform, learning about word processing, carpentry and car repairs at the Mashal de-radicalization centre run by the army.

Part of a carrot and stick approach to battling militancy in the strategic U.S. ally, the aim is to cleanse minds of extremist thoughts through vocational training, and turn men like Gul into productive citizens who support the state.

The success of the program will ultimately hinge, however, on the ability of the government, widely seen as incompetent and corrupt, to help the de-radicalization graduates find jobs.

“If a sincere leadership comes to this country, that will solve the problems,” said Gul, 42, one of the Mashal students. “Today the leadership is not sincere. The same problems will be there.”

Pakistan’s military drove militants out of Swat in 2009. Mashal is in the building which used to be the headquarters of the militants from where they imposed there austere version of Islam.

Eventually, the army realized it couldn’t secure long-term peace with bullets alone.

So military officers, trainers, moderate clerics and psychologists were chosen to run three-month courses designed to erase “radical thoughts” of those accused of aiding the Taliban.  Read the rest of this entry »

US Military Aircraft Forced to Land in Pakistan

Posted by yourpakistan on April 26, 2012

A US military cargo  aircraft was forced to land in Karachi at the Jinnah International Airport on the orders of the Pakistan Air Force, sources said on Wednesday. According to the sources, the Russian-made plane was forced to land in Karachi on the basis of intelligence information provided by the Air Intelligence.

Geo TV reported that the plane is used for Nato supplies. The plane took off from Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan and was flying towards Al-Maktoum Airport in Dubai. The crew of the aircraft was being interrogated till the filing of this report.

Pakistan suspended Nato supplies after a cross border US raid on its check-posts in Mohmand Agency November last year that killed two dozen Pakistani troops.

Islamabad had linked the resumption of Nato supplies with unconditional US public apology over the raid. The unpopular government in Islamabad seems reluctant to reopen Nato supply routes amid anti-American sentiments prevailing in the country ahead of next general election.

In the meantime, President Obama is also facing the same process this November and  doesn’t want to tender an apology after he tendered one over the desecration of the Holy Quran at the hands of US soldiers in Afghanistan.

PM’s sorry slide as ‘Crime Minister of Pakistan’

Posted by yourpakistan on April 24, 2012

Ansar Abbasi – The News International

Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has almost become the ‘Crime Minister of Pakistan’ as his regime has broken all previous records of corruption and bad governance besides shamelessly proving itself to be a great supporter and protector of all alleged and convicted looters and plunderers of national wealth.

Such is the blatant display of Gilani’s support for corruption and white collar crime in the country that the topmost court of the country had to convey time and again that every tale of loot and plunder has its footprint leading to the top rulers.

So shameless is the attitude of the government, whose chief executive is the PM himself that any person associated with the government when caught in a corruption case, is showered with added privileges and promotions instead of being made an example for others.

Of late the prime minister has inducted Raja Pervez Ashraf now nicknamed Raja Rental and others have been held responsible by the Supreme Court for RPP corruption of billions of rupees.

The Supreme Court had asked the government and the NAB to proceed against all those involved in the RPP scam but in return Gilani re-inducted Raja in the federal cabinet, in another financially lucrative ministry of Information Technology.

What could be the moral standing of a government about whom no less than the topmost judge of the country remarks in an open court that that plunderers have been appointed as ministers. Only recently while hearing another case, again it was the chief justice of Pakistan who had observed that any government servant, who does his job honestly is removed by the government and transferred to far flung areas.

The journey of Gilani from the unanimously elected Prime Minister to a stinking Crime Minister started from the very begging of his taking over as the chief executive of the country. Read the rest of this entry »

Pakistan’s Budget: Defense vs. Education?

Posted by yourpakistan on April 23, 2012

The share of defense in Pakistan’s budget has come down. But the savings are not transferred to education. Who is responsible?

SPECIAL REPORT | 23 April 2012

A fresh study into Pakistan’s expenditures reports a 1.5% decline in Defense Budget’s share of the nation’s GDP. But the same study shows that the savings have not been transferred by the government to the Education Budget, which ironically sees a steady decline.

The PCRR, or the Perceptor Compiled & Research Report, a research group that conducted the study for, says its research was prompted by a debate in the Pakistani media over the respective shares of education and defense in the national budget.

The study results are shown in a table that compares Pakistan’s national budgets starting from 2000/2001 and ending with 2011/2012.

The study concludes that Pakistan’s defense budget has seen a “continuous decline” from 3.9% of GDP to 2.4%, which means a 1.5% GDP saving to the government).

In simple words, this means that the country’s defense expenditure has been claiming a lower share in Pakistan’s revenues over the past decade.  But ironically the Education Budget sees a downward trend in the same period, from 2.49% of GDP in 2007/2008 to 0.9% in 2011/2012.  Read the rest of this entry »

The Bhoja Tragedy: Turbulence Ahead

Posted by yourpakistan on April 23, 2012

Bhoja Air’s aged chief executive has been taken into custody, but defense minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, who has presided over the most aviation accidents in Pakistan’s history, is unlikely to lose his job.

Farooq Bhoja was taken into federal custody on Saturday. The bespectacled and bearded chief executive of Karachi-based budget carrier Bhoja Air is facing multiple murder charges after one of his aircraft crashed near Islamabad on Friday evening killing all 127 on board. The Federal Investigation Agency said Bhoja had not been arrested, but simply detained for questioning. The same day the agency also ransacked his office.

Islamabad’s immediate response to the crash had been measured and compassionate: within an hour of the crash, a swift rescue and recovery operation had been launched; and President Asif Ali Zardari put the national carrier, Pakistan International Airlines, at the disposal of those who lost family on Bhoja Air flight B4213. The latest steps—which essentially declare the airline’s aged chief executive guilty until proven innocent—are unreasonable, irrational, and betray the pressure that the government has come under from a shocked public and overzealous media. Who Benefits From anti-Shia Violence in Pakistan?

Posted by yourpakistan on April 18, 2012

There is a sudden rise in  in recent weeks, especially focused on Karachi, Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The question that all Pakistanis should ask is this:

Who benefits from inciting sectarian conflict in three strategic locations: in Pakistan’s business hub, in the sectarian attacks in Pakistan province where the Iran gas pipeline will pass, and near our only land link to China ?

The timing is interesting. It comes when Pakistan rebuffed desperate US calls to reopen the military supply route from Karachi to Afghanistan.

Some of the players behind this mess, like terror group BLA in Balochistan, and two militant Pakistani political parties in Karachi, have links to the United States and India. The TTP enjoys safe havens in US-controlled Afghanistan.

Washington continues to allow the Afghan territory it controls to host TTP terrorists responsible for suicide attacks inside out cities. The same is true for BLA, with the additional Indian involvement in this joint venture with CIA.

This is the kind of hostile environment that we face. It provides context to the violence in Karachi, Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan faces one more thing: punishment for delaying the reopening of NATO supply route. This is where things get dirty.

As Pakistan continued to ignore US calls for a compromise after the deliberate US attack that killed 24 of our soldiers, pro-US Pakistani allies MQM and ANP, two militant parties that divide Pakistanis according to language, stepped up destabilization of Karachi. [President Zardari helped Asfandyar Wali, ANP leader, secretly meet then CIA director in Spring 2008 in Washington.]  In tandem with violence in Karachi, unknown elements launched assassinations of innocent Pakistani Hazara Shia citizens in Balochistan simultaneously with a similar campaign in Gilgit. Mission Afghanistan: A War of Deception

Posted by yourpakistan on April 16, 2012

PKKH Exclusive | byHumaira Naz

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, “Khosrau will be ruined, and there will be no Khosrau after him, and Caesar will surely be ruined and there will be no Caesar after him, and you will spend their treasures in Allah’s Cause.” He called, “War is deceit’.(al-Bukhari 846 CE)

In my opinion governments don’t necessarily represent their people; they are merely a reflection of who got more votes. Just as the Pakistani Government does not represent its people, neither does the US Government.

I say this because the American people don’t want innocent blood to spill. About two-thirds of the populations of NATO countries themselves are against the war in Afghanistan.(Hayden 5th April 2012)

However instead of accepting defeat, the US government is busy crafting a less-humiliating exit from Afghanistan. Problem is, if they leave then the past sacrifices go wasted and if they don’t then the remaining soldiers too will be sacrificed. The million dollar question is how many more soldiers have to die in honor of those who have already died?(ALEXANDER 2012)

Abraham Lincoln said, “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.” Based on this the United States of America has only proven itself characterless over the years.

haracterless over the years.

From Cradle to Grave

As mankind witnesses the second decade of the 21st century, deception serves as the “dark side” of the New Millennium to father wars and catastrophe. With bribed media agendas, misinformation, illegitimate wars and various other satanic tools at work; deception by all means the “new mother of all evils”. From burning Quran to butchering Muslim babies, there it always provides a new excuse.

Mankind today suffers from absolute state of hypnotic trance. They are tactfully led to it from their birth till death by means of media which consistently keeps repeating a “point” until its established in the audience’s minds.(Icke 2011) If in time this massive population wakes up I am afraid it will be too late for rational or unbiased intelligent thought process to survive.

Take the 3/11 Kandahar Massacre as an example; US keeps insisting through its media that it was the work of a single soldier while at the same time is doing its best to hinder any type of investigation into the matter. (RT 2012)

Give me War!

It is unfair to assume the US/NATO mission in Afghanistan as merely a verification of the “law of gravity” in my opinion it is more of a helpless head-on collision with the ground at meteorite speed. The very crater of this collision will be the first of its kind and will serve as a black mark in history on the name of a so called super power we know as United States of America. The defeat of this terrorist, will teach the World that the result of wars, illegal occupations and other dirty bloody politics such as the so called “war on terror” can never end in good news.

Making use of media and mind control, US has deceived not only its own people who are sincere to their country and pay taxes but also made a laughing stock of itself internationally. Here is what Lt. Col. Daniel L. Davis had to say about the so called victorious war in Afghanistan:

“I spent last year in Afghanistan, visiting and talking with U.S. troops and their Afghan partners. My duties with the Army’s Rapid Equipping Force took me into every significant area where our soldiers engage the enemy. Over the course of 12 months, I covered more than 9,000 miles and talked, traveled and patrolled with troops in Kandahar, Kunar, Ghazni, Khost, Paktika, Kunduz, Balkh, Nangarhar and other provinces. What I saw bore no resemblance to rosy official statements by U.S. military leaders about conditions on the ground. Entering this deployment, I was sincerely hoping to learn that the claims were true: that conditions in Afghanistan were improving, that the local government and military were progressing toward self-sufficiency. I did not need to witness dramatic improvements to be reassured, but merely hoped to see evidence of positive trends, to see companies or battalions produce even minimal but sustainable progress. Instead, I witnessed the absence of success on virtually every level.”(DAVIS 2012)

As humiliating as this account is we all know US will never openly admit it. Sadly the media owners of the World have done extensive efforts to teach us to believe that the corporate looking lady with the expensive suit and amazing American or British accent is the ambassador of truth and cannot possible be wrong.

Media today is either openly or passively mocking against religions and races, particularly Muslims. The sole purpose here is not to get ratings or make money rather it dangerously lessens the image and value of life of a certain race or caste so that when they are slaughtered, people just don’t care! On media the symbol for a terrorist is Asian man with a long beard, a desperate yet oppressed woman is the one who is covered in Hijab; and the worst of situations occur when these satanic puppets are used to justify the butchering of innocent human beings in the name of war.

Wishful thinking: The Dignified Exit

“And when those who disbelieve were plotting against you (O beloved Prophet) to confine you, or to kill you or to drive you away; and they were planning, but Allah (also) had arranged a plan; and Allah is the Best of planners.” Surah Al Anfal: 30 (Allah n.d.)

“With the media in our pocket, there is nothing to worry about”, this is what the US anticipated, or at least hoped for; otherwise it would not have convinced its NATO allies to commit the same suicide which it was arranging for itself. Unfortunately whether its Vietnam, Lebanon, Iraq or Afghanistan; US administration is desperately busy paving a path for dignified exit in a year or so.(ALEXANDER 2012)

We conclude with the following verse’s translation from the Holy Quran: “Until the Gog and Magog (people) Are let through (their barrier), And they swiftly swarm From every hill. Then will the True Promise Draw nigh (of fulfilment): Then behold! the eyes Of the Unbelievers will Fixedly stare in horror: ‘Ah! Woe to us! we were indeed Heedless of this; nay; we Truly did wrong!” Al-Anbiya’: 96-97 (Allah n.d.)
