Pak Army Geared up for Rescue, Life Saving Operations: ISPR

The Army has been deployed on rescue and life saving operations in Southern Sindh and have further geared up services along with a deployment of fresh troops to help those affected by the floods. An ISPR statement on Monday said that since last one month troops have been committed to interior Sindh for the rescue of the marooned populace and providing medical care at various field medical camps.

The operation is being conducted through boats, vehicles and Army Helicopters. Corps Commander Lieutenant General Muhammad Zahir Ul Islam visited the sensitive flood affected areas in a hectic day long tour on Monday in which he visited Khoski, Pangrio shadi Taj areas of Badin district. He monitored the intense rescue operation under taken by Army troops. He also inspected marooned areas along LBOD on a boat and many other affected areas by road from Hyderabad to TM Khan, Nindo Shahr, Badine, Khoski, Pangrio.

He was accompanied by General Officer Commanding Major General Anwar Ali Hyder who initially briefed him on the ongoing rescue operation in detail. The Corps Commander also visited various medical camps in detail and inquired about the pattern of illness and diseases of flood victims. Talking to the troops, the Corps Commander lauded their tireless efforts and devotion to duty. He urged the troops to put in their best in confronting this daunting national cause.It is worth mentioning here that Pak Army has rescued more than hundred thousand marooned people along with their cattle from various water inundated areas.

More than one thousand families have been given food packages from Army’s own resources and troops contributions; whereas over forty thousand patients have been treated.
